Our week's fly by us without notion. Sometimes I'm not sure whether I'm coming or going or coming again, just to go again. I like taking the mornings for my kids. What I mean by that is, we wake up early to eat together, talk about how we would like our days to go and what we can do to make it better. We talk about making new friends, stepping outside of their comfort zones to be the bigger person to introduce themselves to at least one new person in their school or someone they have ever spoke to. My kids attend elementary school on a military base. They both have friends who have moved away and they know the new kid just newly enrolled. They've been on both sides before many times. They both adjust quite nicely. Caleb is almost ten years old, Gabrielle is turning six, they're old pros now. I'm proud of both of them.
Recently, Gabrielle's Kindergarten class was asked to, "Dress For Success". This made Gabrielle super happy. She made a list of the careers that she doesn't want to be, {Yes, DOESN'T want to be}, but one idea that came up and never went away.
....brace yourself, I did. She wants to be a, "Rock Star-Super Star" (in her words). We had fun dressing that part. The boots, the makeup, her hair - the glitter in her hair (and everywhere all over my house).
She makes my heart happy with her sweet innocence, and the lovely glitter and combat boots she was rocking along with the flourescent pink nail polish. Glitter and big flowers make anything that's bad at that moment, just be non-existent. I will support her no-matter-what.
Thank you, Rebecca, for giving me somewhere to post my simple pictures that may not necessarily make it to a frame on my wall, but I would like for others to see. Simply because sometimes it's about a different prospective.
Check out Rebecca Coopers Blog for several photo challenge. You don't have to pick just one...do them all, if you have the time. Make some photog friends while you're out there.
